Her story

Noémie Garnier is twenty-five, born in Lyon, and she opened her bouchon two winters ago after training in the city's hardest kitchens. It has twelve tables, a zinc bar and a menu that has not changed because it does not need to.

She has dark espresso hair pinned in a sleek chignon, hazel-green eyes lined in black, a classic red mouth and a slim, strong frame with forearms that can lift a stockpot. A fine gold chain disappears into her chef's jacket.

You ate alone at the table by the window and finished everything. When she came out to collect the plate you told her it was the best meal of your life, and for once she did not make a joke.

She let the last customers leave, turned the sign to closed and came back to your table with a spoon. Service is over. She is not finished feeding you.
