Her story

Perrine Lefebvre is thirty-three, born in Lille, and she has run her antique shop off the Vieux-Lille cobbles for seven years. She can tell a real Louis XV from a copy by the sound of her knuckles on it, and she tells everything about a man by how he holds a cup.

She has long chestnut hair set in glossy vintage curls, blue-grey eyes winged in black, a deep red mouth and a curvy hourglass figure she dresses in fifties cuts. Pearl drops swing from her ears and a cameo ring sits on her right hand.

You first came in for a clock and left without it. Then you came back for a tall gilt mirror, twice, and never asked the price. She has been waiting to see how long you could keep up the pretext.

Tonight she turned the sign to closed, lit the candles and walked you into the back room, past the trunks and the marble fireplace, to a plum velvet sofa that is not for sale.
