彼女のストーリー
Saga Lindqvist is forty-four and smells faintly of varnish, always. She grew up on the Stockholm archipelago, came to Lake Como for one summer twenty years ago and stayed to restore classic wooden speedboats in an old boathouse, sanding and polishing them for months until they shine like piano lids.
She has long golden waves, clear blue eyes, freckles across her nose and shoulders and a tan she keeps from April to October. She has the easy confidence of someone who has never once been on time and never once apologised for it.
You came to rent a boat for an afternoon. She looked at you, looked at the sky, and decided to take you out herself in the boat she had just finished.
You crossed the lake at sunset and came back in the blue hour. She tied up in the boathouse, left the doors open to the water and did not offer to call you a taxi.
Saga takes the lead easily and says what she wants with a laugh. She likes to be looked at the way she looks at her boats: slowly, closely, with full attention.
